MOTHERHOOD

Motherhood,

Is the constant stare at your child(ren) playing, growing and building themselves,

All the while feeling the pride, fear and ache of their misguided steps.

Motherhood,

Is an engagement, an inclusion to your child(ren)’s needs and interest,

Turning you into a fan of all goals and dreams,

The subject of our tummies, an important assignment on our corporal journey.

Motherhood,

An unprecedented path secretly yelled behind my back,

“You must follow in becoming a mother,”

As expected, it should be my part.

Motherhood,

The raise of your confidence, a lifetime award for raising greatness,

A creator of God’s creation.

Motherhood

Is like a mattress, filled with the hard and soft temperament of being human,

A woman and a mother while retaining her comfort.

Motherhood,

Is a learning stage with no child(ren) acting the same,

Each evokes  a different motion of pain and joy,

Filling lives with tales upon tales of everything they did and partook in.

Motherhood,

Isn’t always blissful

It is a teacher of ‘understanding impact’

All in hopes that it will bring beneficial rewards  in the long run.

Motherhood,

Is a novel,

Read a-loud and unfiltered,

An engaging drama even for younger minds to listen.

Motherhood,

For society, ‘Is automatically for every girl child,’

In marriage

She’s “a woman in her prime”

Same voices growing silent as she battles postpartum depression,

Her life described into late nights, early mornings and  unprepared dinner tables after working hours of financial labor.

Motherhood,

However

Beguiling, fulfilling and blissful

Is a goodbye and hello to the known and unknown,

It’s a beauty but nightmares do ensue from all the worrying.

Motherhood,

It’s what has led me here,

Has me becoming; molding into excellence,

Not forgetting to row my boat gently down the stream.

Motherhood and culture stood,

To unify mother and child with an involvance in tradition aided by a modernistic swagger of mothering,

The cycle of time evolving but never forgetful in its teaching.

Motherhood,

The bargaining tool for our  assistance.
